Metropolitan State University Celebrates First-Generation Students

November 6, 2017

The president of Metropolitan State University and many of their administrators and faculty are first-generation college students. They are collecting information from all administrators, faculty, staff who are first-gen and listing their names on their website (the list of names will be posted by Nov 3rd). They launched a First-Gen website on October 20. They will have a full day of events on November 8th — a TRIO Open House, discussion session on the journey of first-generation college students, proclamations for first-generation college students, and a session on first-generation students' perspectives — and have buttons, t-shirts, and a banner.

How will your institution celebrate first-generation students on November 8? Please share your plans with us via e-mail or through social media using the hashtag #celebratefirstgen on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
